Very cool! Took me a few minutes - actually I think I'm still working on it - to figure out how this is laid out. The photo is of the mirror, with the reflection of the van, right?
You are right. The photo was taken facing the front of the van, with the side-mirror turned out slightly to catch the back of the van. The lines merged together nicely to make a somewhat confusing image :).
